Philipp Muras-Krasznahorkai
In his work, Philipp Muras-Krasznahorkai deals with the void, the immaterial, and the invisible in various ways. Based on that, he creates paintings with minimalist, aesthetic concepts of abstraction in long-term picture-series:
He electrifies pictures by installing sockets to charge them with invisible energy. (Socket Paintings). He burns objects to convert them into painting without depicting them (Ash Paintings). He uses oil-tablecloth as canvas and removes the existing prints by processing them with solvents to create empty spaces (Tablecloth Paintings). He paints monochrome grey pictures and only lets colors appear at the edges (Edge Paintings). He uses the camouflage colors of warships to paint the vast, calm sea (Warship Paintings).
